Parvez Alam, a British citizen, is a Reader at the School of Engineering, The University of Edinburgh, UK, specializing in Biomimetic Design, Comparative Biomechanics, Biomaterials & Biointerfaces, Modelling & Simulation, Composites Science & Technology, and Mechanical Metamaterials.
His academic journey includes a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Bath, UK, in 2004, and a Docent (Docentur) from Abo Akademi University, Finland, in 2013. He also holds a Professional Certificate in Innovation and Technology from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA, obtained in 2017.
Dr. Alam's expertise has been recognized through prestigious fellowships, including the Fellowship of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (FIMechE), Fellowship of the Royal Society of Biology (FRSB), and Fellowship of the Institute of Materials, Minerals and Mining (FIMMM).
