Dr. Fatemeh Salehi holds a Ph.D. in Renewable Energy Engineering from The University of New South Wales, Australia, completed in 2015. Her professional journey showcases a rich blend of academic leadership and research expertise. She is currently the Academic Lead for Sustainability at the Faculty of Science and Engineering and an Associate Professor at the School of Engineering, at Macquarie University. She previously served as Deputy Director of the Macquarie Sustainable Energy Research Centre from 2020 to 2022.
She is also an executive member of the Combustion Institute (ANZ), a member of the Scientific Advisory Board for Blue Economy Cooperative Research Center, a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee, Australian National Computational Merit Allocation, and a member of Working Groups of Standards Australia for the development of hydrogen standards.
Her academic journey includes significant international exposure, with roles such as Visiting Associate Professor at the College of Engineering, University of Michigan, US, in 2022, and Visiting Associate Professor at the School of Mechanical Engineering Sciences, Surrey University, UK.
Throughout her career, Dr. Salehi has demonstrated a commitment to sustainable energy research and academic excellence, making significant contributions to the field of engineering. Her expertise is in the development of physical models for computational simulations of single- and multi-phase flows to advance low-emission technologies. She is particularly interested in scaling clean fuels such as hydrogen, ammonia, and biomass to achieve net-zero targets.
