About

Dr. Helen Treichel holds a PhD in Food Engineering from the University of Campinas (UNICAMP, Brazil). She is currently a Full Professor and Researcher at the Federal University of Fronteira Sul (UFFS), Campus Erechim, Brazil. She is permanent faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Environmental Science and Technology and Food Science and Technology, and a collaborating faculty member of the Graduate Program in Biotechnology and Biosciences at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).
Dr. Treichel’s research focuses on bioprocess optimization, enzyme production and applications, microbial biotechnology, waste and effluent valorization, agricultural bioinputs, and bioenergy. She has extensive experience as a reviewer and editorial board member for international journals, and she currently holds a CNPq Research Productivity Fellowship (Level 1C).
