About
Dr. Amlana Panda is an Associate Professor [I] in Mechanical Engineering at KIIT Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching, research, industry, and consultancy.
His research interests include sustainable machining, hard machining of advanced materials, tool wear, surface integrity, and metal matrix nanocomposites. He has published 113 Scopus-indexed papers (journals, conferences, and book chapters), with an h-index of 25 and over 1560 citations. He is also the author of the CRC Press book Sustainable Hard Machining.
In 2023, he filed four patents in emerging areas such as hybrid MMCs, nanofluid MQL, ionic lubricants, and hybrid cooling. He is currently Co-Principal Investigator of a DST-CRG funded project (₹26 Lakh, 2023–2026) and has guided several Ph.D. and postgraduate students.
Dr. Panda has reviewed more than 5550 manuscripts for top publishers like Elsevier, Springer, MDPI, and Sage, and also serves as a Ph.D. thesis evaluator for reputed universities, including Shivaji University and Aliah University.
With experience in both industry and academia, he is passionate about advancing sustainable manufacturing and mentoring the next generation of engineers and researchers.
