Dr. Maqsood Ahmad Sandhu has been working as the Head of Business Administration Department. He served on many committees at the university, college and department levels. Also, he chaired several important committees within the College of Business and Economics (CBE) and University level at United Arab Emirates University. At the College level, he worked with other departments’ faculty in developing new curriculum and revising existing courses for both undergraduate and graduate programs. He always highly valued and supported interdisciplinary collaboration not only in curriculum innovation and development, but also in joint research projects and outreach activities. Having worked for several years as a manager in a multinational corporation in Finland, he retains close links with industry and academia. His teaching experience span is over 30 years to graduates as well as undergraduate and doctoral students at the University of Vaasa (UV), Swedish School of Economics (SSE), Vaasa University of Applied Sciences (PUV), Oulu Business School (OBS), University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and now at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) since August 2008. In addition to excelling in teaching, he has a very active research portfolio, focusing on the areas of international project business, business process development, supply chain management and, recently, entrepreneurship. In this field, he has published over 130 papers (including accepted manuscripts) among 54 articles in international peer reviewed journals with A & A* level publications as well as over 80 research papers in international conference proceedings, book chapters and conference presentations. He has also authored 3 book chapters and edited a handbook of 38 chapters. His research has directly impacted on my field: some of his work has been adopted and implemented by a huge multi-national corporation operating in 160 countries. He has actively promoted outreach activities and mentored junior faculty with their teaching and research, and worked with senior faculty on joint research projects, publications, conferences, workshops, and grant applications at CBE. Furthermore, he has repeatedly shown leadership skills in various roles and capacities, e.g. in European and American accreditation applications, program and curricula development, outcomes assessment committees, as well as elected member of Vaasa Municipality Education Board 2004-2008. Presently, he is also the Board member of Pakistani High School in Al Ain (A Trusty Board).
