About
Prof. (Dr.) Kiran Sood is a Professor at Chitkara Business School, Chitkara University, Punjab, India, specializing in insurance, finance, and risk management. She holds a PhD in Insurance and completed her postdoctoral research in insurance at the University of Uşak, Turkey. She is also a Certified Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) professional with strong contributions in insurance, finance, and risk studies.
Dr. Sood has developed a strong international academic profile through her teaching, research, and collaborative engagements across multiple countries. She served as an Affiliate Professor at the University of Malta under the Erasmus Programme in November 2023. In July–August 2024, she was invited to deliver a teaching module on Forensic Accounting at the “Ukshin Hoti” University Summer School, Prizren, Kosovo. She is also associated with the Women Researchers Council at Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), Azerbaijan, as a Research Fellow and has been involved in teaching MBA Executive courses at UNEC during April–June 2025.
With extensive academic and research experience, Dr. Sood has actively contributed to international conferences, workshops, colloquiums, edited volumes, and multidisciplinary research collaborations. She has published a total of 115 Scopus-indexed publications, including around 40 edited book volumes published with reputed international publishers. Her research primarily focuses on insurance, financial literacy, sustainable finance, risk management, forensic accounting, and policy-oriented interdisciplinary studies.
