About

Dr. Neeraj Budhlakoti is a scientist specializing in Bioinformatics at ICAR-IASRI, New Delhi. Dr. Neeraj boasts over 10 years of experience in research, teaching, and training. He has developed numerous user-friendly R packages, software, databases, registered copyrights, and germplasm lines for the scientific community. His work includes the development and publication of advanced methodologies aimed at enhancing the accuracy of GWAS and genomic selection. Notably, he has made significant contributions to the field through original discoveries, such as identifying new molecular markers and QTLs for various biotic and abiotic stresses in Indian wheat germplasm using GWAS. These markers were further validated through the KASP technique for potential use in future marker-assisted breeding programs. He is also serving as a faculty member of the Graduate School ICAR-IARI, New Delhi where he is teaching many postgraduate courses in Bioinformatics. Dr. Neeraj has also organized and led several training programs for scientists and research scholars working in ICAR and has served as a resource person and guest faculty for various training programs and conferences. He is a recipient of many prestigious awards including the ICAR-IARI Ph.D. merit medal award, NAAS Young Scientist Award 2024, & Associate fellow NABS. He has published more than 60 research papers in national and international journals of repute.
