Dr. Lekhnath Kafle, an Associate Professor at the National Pingtung University of Science and Technology in Taiwan, has established himself as a leading expert in entomology and sustainable agriculture.



He holds a Ph.D. from National Taiwan University, which serves as the foundation for his extensive academic and professional journey. Dr. Kafle transitioned from practical field experience - having served as a Plant Protection Officer and Facility Specialist - to academic leadership. Since joining NPUST in 2016, he has concentrated his research on the Apiculture, Plant / Crop protection and Urban Insect Pests Management.

Dr. Kafle advocates environmentally friendly pest management practices that reduce toxic pesticide use while promoting alternative plant protection methods. One of his notable initiatives is "Smart Beekeeping," where he explores the intersection of technology and biology. His research focuses on pollinator health and the impacts of climate change, leading to innovative strategies that protect biodiversity and enhance food security.



Dr. Kafle frequently shares his insights at national and international conferences, covering topics such as apiculture, integrated pest management (IPM), invasive species management, and sustainable agricultural technologies. Through his teaching and research, he plays a crucial role in shaping the future of tropical agriculture, effectively bridging the gap between scientific innovation and the needs of farmers.

Dr. Kafle leads a diverse research team composed of members from various nationalities, particularly from Asia, South America, and Africa. He has published over 70 peer-reviewed papers in prestigious journals and has delivered more than 50 presentations at conferences worldwide.



Outside of his scientific endeavors, Dr. Kafle is passionate about Nepali literature and actively participates in community-based social organizations, reflecting his commitment to both cultural and social development
