Dr. Sasanka Deka is a Professor of Chemistry, Nanochemistry, and Advanced Materials for Energy Conversion and Storage (ECS) in the Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi. Currently he serves as the Joint Director, University Instrument Science Centre, Delhi. He received his Ph.D. degree from the National Chemical Laboratory (CSIR NCL-Pune). He did his postdoctoral research at the National Nanotechnology Laboratory, CNR-INFM, Lecce, Italy, and the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), Genova, Italy. He has been awarded the MRSI medal lecture award 2025, TMS Foundation 2008 SHRI RAM ARORA AWARD, by the TMS, Warrendale, USA; DAE-BRNS Young scientist research award, RSC best talk-2015, Institute of Physics (IOP), UK best-cited paper-India 2019, RSC best-cited paper in 2020, IIREA Award 2021, DU-IoE research publication award 2023, etc. He has been selected as the Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC), UK. Dr. Deka has published more than 85 highly cited research papers in various international high-impact journals, holds 3 patents, and has authored 2 books and 3 book chapters published by international publishers. His research interests include synthetic nanochemistry, manipulation at the Interface and crystal facets, advanced nanomaterials for energy conversion and storage (green H2, sustainable development), and nanomaterials for catalysis.
