Dr. Ramesh Vinayagam is a Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Manipal Institute of Technology (MIT), Manipal Academy of Higher Education, India. With over 16 years of academic and research experience, he has established himself as a prominent figure in the fields of Environmental Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, and Biochemical Engineering.
Research & Scholarly Impact Dr. Ramesh’s research focuses on developing sustainable solutions for global environmental challenges. His expertise includes the green synthesis of nanoparticles for catalytic degradation, the engineering of advanced adsorbents (such as magnetic activated carbon and biochar) for the removal of emerging contaminants, and the optimization of microalgal biomass for biofuels. He has authored over 114 research papers in high-impact international journals and maintains a significant scholarly presence with an h-index of 45.
Editorial & Academic Leadership A dedicated contributor to the scientific community, Dr. Ramesh serves as an active reviewer for prestigious publishers, including Elsevier and Springer, for journals such as Environmental Research, Scientific Reports, and the Arabian Journal of Chemistry. His work has been supported by various funding bodies, including the Vision Group of Science and Technology (VGST), Government of Karnataka.
Education He holds a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from Manipal University, an M.Tech. in Biotechnology from VIT University, and a B.Tech. in Chemical Engineering from Madras University.
