Dr. Wesley Douglas Oliveira Silva is an Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Alagoas (UFAL), Brazil, where he is affiliated with the Department of Business Administration, School of Economics, Business Administration and Accounting (FEAC). He is also a permanent faculty member of the Graduate Programs in Water Resources and Sanitation (PPGRHS-UFAL) and Renewable Energy (PPGER-UFAL). He received his B.Sc., M.Sc., Ph.D., and Postdoctoral training in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) and holds a specialization in Data Science and Analytics from the University of São Paulo (USP-ESALQ).

Dr. Silva's research focuses on developing innovative methodologies for complex decision-making under uncertainty, integrating Multicriteria Decision Analysis (MCDA), Group Decision-Making, Negotiation Analysis, Artificial Intelligence, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Data Science. His work supports evidence-based policymaking and sustainable development across water resources management, sanitation, renewable energy, circular economy, climate adaptation, environmental management, and socio-environmental resilience.

He is an international collaborator of the Research Center for Industrial Engineering and Management (EIGES), Universidade Lusófona (Portugal), and an active member of SCORAI-Global (Sustainable Consumption Research and Action Initiative), the International Society on Multiple Criteria Decision Making (MCDM Society), and the Young Hydrologic Society – Chapter Brazil, where he serves as a Board Member (2026–2027). He is also the founder and leader of the RISE – Research Group for Innovation on Industry, Sustainability, and Energy Efficiency.

Dr. Silva has extensive editorial experience as an Associate Editor, Guest Editor, reviewer, and author for leading international journals. His research aims to bridge methodological innovation with practical decision support, contributing to resilient, sustainable, and evidence-informed public policies.
