Dr. Zeina El Sebaaly ia an agronomist, researcher, lecturer, and project coordinator at the Faculty of Agriculture, Lebanese University, Department of Plant Production, with more than a decade of experience in academic research, project coordination, and higher education. She holds a PhD in Agronomy and Crop Science from the University of Forestry, Sofia, Bulgaria, specializing in mushroom production, as well as a Master’s degree in Mediterranean Organic Agriculture from the Istituto Agronomico Mediterraneo di Bari, Italy. Her research expertise encompasses mushroom cultivation and technology, horticultural crops, viticulture, tropical fruits, abiotic stress management, climate-change adaptation, nanotechnology applications in agriculture, and agro-industrial waste valorization. She has authored and co-authored 38 peer-reviewed research papers, in addition to conference papers and book chapters, including several chapters in the CABI book Mushrooms: Agaricus bisporus. She has led and coordinated several research and development projects supported by national and international institutions, including projects related to mushroom production, sustainable agriculture, and environmental innovation. She is also an active reviewer for international scientific journals and has participated in international conferences and research activities across Europe and the Mediterranean region. Through her academic, research, and project-management experience, she contributes to advancing sustainable mushroom production, innovative agricultural practices, and environmentally responsible approaches to crop and resource management.
