About
Dr. V. Venkatramanan is an Associate Professor at the School of Interdisciplinary and Transdisciplinary Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi. He holds a B.Sc. degree in Agriculture from Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, an M.Sc. degree in Environmental Sciences from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pant Nagar and a PhD degree in Environmental Sciences from Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi. He is a recipient of the Indian Council of Agricultural Research Junior Research Fellowship, Indian Agricultural Research Institute Senior Research Fellowship, and University Grants Commission Senior Research Fellowship. At IGNOU, he is coordinating a Masters level programme in climate change, environmental sciences, and environmental studies. His research interests include climate-smart agriculture, climate policy, bioenergy, conservation agriculture, remote sensing and GIS, biodegradation and green technologies for environmental management. He has published more than 50 publications including research papers in peer-reviewed journals, and book chapters. He has edited 16 books including 6 books from Springer Nature. He is supervising 4 PhD scholars in the areas of climate modelling, climate policy, climate-smart agriculture and urban heat island effect.
