Dr. Prithwiraj Dey’s research focuses on developing sustainable and resource-efficient agricultural systems through an interdisciplinary integration of agronomy, soil science, plant nutrition, soil biogeochemistry, and digital technologies. His work encompasses soil health, carbon sequestration, nutrient-use efficiency, greenhouse gas mitigation, precision nutrient management, rice-based cropping systems, and natural fibre crops, with growing emphasis on crop sensing, biochar, and circular approaches to agricultural residues. He has conducted research as a Visiting Scholar at INRAE in France and has received several academic distinctions for his contributions to agronomy and fibre-crop research. He serves as an Editor for Scientific Reports (Nature Portfolio), BMC Agriculture, and BMC Plant Biology, and as a Specialty Editor for Computers and Electronics in Agriculture, Frontiers in Sustainable Food Systems, and Remote Sensing. Through his research and editorial contributions, he seeks to advance scientifically rigorous and practically relevant approaches to sustainable agriculture, soil health, and climate-resilient crop production.
