Prof. Riyad Moosa, CA(SA) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Accountancy at the University of Johannesburg, with over a decade of academic and research experience. His research interests span auditing, corporate governance, Islamic banking, financial accounting, IT auditing, and AI-supported pedagogy. His work has been published in peer-reviewed international journals, scholarly book chapters, and national business media, and he has presented at numerous national and international conferences, including as a keynote speaker and workshop facilitator. He also contributes to the international academic community as a peer reviewer for multiple scholarly journals and through service on an international conference programme committee.

Beyond academia, Prof Moosa contributes to auditing standard setting as a statutory member of the Committee for Auditing Standards (CFAS), where he has held several leadership roles. These include chairing and deputy chairing task groups and serving on numerous initiatives concerned with the development and implementation of auditing standards.
