Dr. Carmelo S. del Castillo is a Aquaculture scientist, molecular biologist, and research leader with expertise in aquatic animal health, microbiomes, omics, environmental DNA, probiotics, and data-driven approaches to fisheries and aquaculture. He is faculty member and principal investigator at the University of the Philippines Visayas, with experience leading multidisciplinary research, mentoring students and early-career researchers, and developing collaborations with government, academic, industry, and international partners. He concurrently serves as President and Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of ACCENTECX AI, Inc., where scientific research is translated into AI-enabled analytical tools, decision-support systems, and applied technology solutions. His research interests increasingly integrate biological intelligence, complex systems, and responsible artificial intelligence.
