Cureus Journals, part of Springer Nature, launched its fourth journal (Cureus Journal of Agriculture and Food Science) in December 2025. Today’s blog focuses on how Cureus Journals, comprising Cureus Journal of EngineeringCureus Journal of Computer ScienceCureus Journal of Business and Economics, and Cureus Journal of Agriculture and Food Science, empowers its global community of researchers through various author-centric initiatives for open access publishing.

Blogs for Authors

Since its launch in early 2024, Cureus Journals has published insightful blogs on topics that are in high demand among both early-stage and experienced researchers. For instance, a blog by Neha Trivedi recommends the right approach and strategy for publishing your first research paper. A related blog by Dr. Parag Budukh, Ph.D., shares key advice on conducting literature review with early-career researchers. In yet another blog article, Dr. Nikhil A. Gokhale, Ph.D., shares the top 50 definitions that researchers need to be aware of. Besides sharing publishing tips with busy researchers, these blogs also focus on the latest research trends and career advice, as illustrated by a post on AI research and another on international economics research competitions. The blogs also provide valuable insights into other publishing-related activities, such as getting more citations using ethical methods.

Manuscript Submission Video

In 2025, the Cureus Journals team created a video tutorial that simplifies the manuscript submission process for prospective authors. The insightful guide demonstrates how authors should cross-check compliance with the respective journal’s scope and author guidelines. It prompts prospective authors to select the appropriate article type (original article, review, case study, etc.) for their manuscript. The video also focuses on other key requirements such as abstract word count, category selection, keyword selection, important disclosures, and more. It also briefly describes various manuscript sections (e.g., the Introduction and Results sections) and certain criteria that need to be met (e.g., inserting equations in the right format, uploading clear figures, and reference formatting). The video is now being viewed by Cureus Journals’ research community worldwide.

Training Webinars

The Cureus Journals team has organized multiple training sessions for its researcher community and has received a good response from attendees worldwide. In May 2026, Ed Gerstner, Ph.D., Director of Research Environment Alliances, Academic Affairs at Springer Nature, shared expert insights on upholding ethical research standards and navigating research integrity challenges. The webinar covered key topics, including common research integrity issues in academia and practical tips to avoid ethical pitfalls. Between 2025 and 2026, Richa Das, Publisher at Cureus Journals, delivered multiple training sessions for existing and prospective authors.

In Sep. 2025, Yateendra Joshi, a former Visiting Editorial Fellow at the World Resources Institute, Washington, D.C., delivered an insightful training session on scientific writing. The session received a wide response from more than 300 researchers across 45 countries. The workshop focused on addressing common author challenges, including manuscript structure and formatting, abstract writing, compliance with author guidelines, authorship and ethical considerations, clarity of language, effective use of figures and tables, proper citations and referencing, concerns about plagiarism, and key reasons behind manuscript rejection.

In early 2026, Dr. Avinash Chalumuri, who works as Scientist 'D' at the prestigious National Center for Medium Range Weather Forecasting (NCMRWF), Ministry of Earth Sciences, Government of India, delivered an in-depth session on quantum computing. Top technology firms, including Google, are heavily investing in quantum computing. Recognizing the importance of this research area, Cureus Journals organized the exclusive hour-long webinar for its global research community. The event received excellent response from participants.

Email and Social Media Outreach

Since its inception in 2024, Cureus Journals has consistently shared insightful publishing tips with its global community of authors. Cureus Journals has achieved this via social-media-based and email-based outreach. The Cureus Journals team has also showcased trending research in its blogs and highlighted noteworthy published articles through various outreach initiatives.

Conference Workshops

Publishers for Cureus Journals in engineering, computer science, business and economics, and agriculture and food science have participated in multiple author workshops and seminars between 2024 and 2025.

Springer Nature’s bus tours in 2024 and 2025, with active participation from Cureus Journals, generated remarkable enthusiasm among researchers.
